Football participation declines for the second consecutive year nationally

Click here: For the second consecutive year, participation in 11-player high school football declined nationwide, according to the annual survey by the National Federation of State High School Associations. However, football remains the No. 1 participatory sport for boys by a wide margin.

Welfare Generation? 52.1% of Kids Live in Households Getting Means-Tested Government Assistance

Click here: According to the most recent data from the Census Bureau, there were approximately 73,586,000 people under 18 in the United States, and 38,365,000 of them — or 52.1 percent — resided in households in which one or more persons received benefits from a means-tested government program. These included the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps), Medicaid, public housing, Supplemental Security Income, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the National School Lunch Program.

Illegal Alien charged with Mollie Tibbetts’ murder

Click here: An “illegal alien” is in custody for the murder of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts, according to Iowa police officials. Cristhian Rivera, 24, was charged Tuesday in Poweshiek County after being brought in without incident by local cops.
Click here for more on the murder: “He went to get her out of the trunk and noticed blood on the side of her head… he then dragged Tibbetts on foot to a secluded location in a cornfield, put her over his shoulder and took her 20 meters into the field where he left her, covered up in some leaves”
