Study: Food Waste Up 56% Under ‘Healthy’ School Lunch Program

WB School Board Election Absentee Ballots Now Available

West Burlington School Board Absentee voting has begun

Absentee Ballots are now available for the West Burlington School Board election set for  Tuesday, September 8th. Three seats are up for election to WB School Board.

Five Candidates are vying for three seats:
  • Dan Hockett (incumbent)
  • Andy Crowner
  • Pam Dodds
  • Randy Fry
  • Lynn Hartsock

You may vote in person at the County Auditor’s Office, located on 2nd floor of the Courthouse. You may also file a completed Absentee Ballot Request Form and return it to the County Auditor’s Office in person or by mail and have an absentee ballot mailed directly to your home. The mailing address for the County Auditor’s Office is P.O. Box 784 Burlington, IA 52601

Want ‘sustained happiness’? Get religion, study says

Click here: Researchers looked at four areas: 1) volunteering or working with a charity; 2) taking educational courses; 3) participating in religious organizations; 4) participating in a political or community organization. Of the four, participating in a religious organization was the only social activity associated with sustained happiness, researchers found.
