WB Pool leaks could cost city nearly $70,000

Crews from Millard’s, and West Burlington Public Works (with help from Ben at Drain Doctor), find and uncover the first of at least two leaking pipes under the floor in the shallow end of West Burlington City Pool. The Leak rate under the pool floor accounted for about 70,000-gallons lost per day.

[UPDATED] Taxpayer info: In 2007, The City of West Burlington certified $4.9-million dollars in TIF dept ($7.7-million in today’s dollars) to construct the pool. West Burlington Pool has operated at a financial loss every year since opening in 2008 losing over $1.5 million dollars since it opened 17-years ago.
